πΈ Women’s Back Pain: The Missing Link Between Menstrual Health and the Spine
What I Learned as a Healer — From Thousands of Women and From Listening to the Womb
For more than four decades, women have come to me seeking relief from back pain. Some arrived with severe lower‑back stiffness. Some with pain that came and went every month. Some with discomfort that no doctor could explain.
I listened. I observed. I analysed every case.
And slowly, a truth emerged — a truth almost nobody talks about:
For many women, back pain is not just a spinal issue. It is a menstrual and hormonal issue.
This blog shares what I discovered from women who came to me, and how menstrual health and spinal health are deeply connected.
πΏ 1. What Women Taught Me — The Patterns Nobody Noticed
Women came to me with:
Irregular periods
Painful cycles
Hormonal imbalance
Pelvic congestion
Emotional stress
Lower‑back pain
Again and again, I saw the same pattern:
When the menstrual cycle was disturbed, the lower back was disturbed.
The nerves of the uterus and ovaries share deep pathways with the nerves of the lower spine. When one system is under stress, the other reacts.
This was not written in any book. I learned it from women themselves — from their stories, their pain, their courage.
πΏ 2. Hormonal–Spinal Connections: The Science Behind the Pain
Hormones influence:
Muscles
Ligaments
Nerves
Circulation
Emotional balance
During menstrual irregularities:
Pelvic muscles tighten
Lower‑back nerves become sensitive
Ligaments loosen or stiffen
Emotional stress increases
Breathing becomes shallow
All of this affects the spine.
Women often told me:
“My back pain increases just before my periods.” “My lower back hurts when my cycle is irregular.” “I thought it was only back pain — I didn’t know my cycle was involved.”
Their bodies were speaking. We just needed to listen.
πΏ 3. Emotional Stress During Cycles — The Invisible Load
Women carry emotional responsibilities silently:
Family
Work
Children
Relationships
Social expectations
Internal pressure to “keep going”
During sensitive days, emotional stress increases. This stress tightens the lower back even more.
I saw this repeatedly:
Fear tightened the lower spine
Worry stiffened the pelvic region
Grief collapsed the upper back
Anger tightened the shoulders
Women often suppress emotions. Their spine absorbs the load.
πΏ 4. Simple Home Practices That Help Women Immediately
These practices are gentle, safe, and effective.
⭐ Warm Compress
Place a warm water bag on the lower abdomen for 3–5 minutes. Then place it on the lower back. This improves circulation and relaxes nerves.
⭐ Pelvic Breathing
Lie down comfortably. Inhale → belly rises Exhale → belly falls This relaxes pelvic muscles and reduces lower‑back tension.
⭐ Foetal Position Rest
Lie on your side with knees slightly drawn in. This position relaxes the uterus, ovaries, and lower spine.
⭐ Avoid Heavy Lifting
During sensitive days, avoid bending forward or lifting weight.
⭐ Emotional Softening
Place your hand on your chest and breathe slowly. Whisper: “I release this from my spine.”
This BMP cue calms the nervous system.
πΏ 5. Why Women Need a Different Approach to Back Care
Women’s bodies are cyclical. Their hormones shift. Their emotions fluctuate. Their pelvic organs influence their spine.
Yet most back‑pain advice is designed for men.
Women need:
Softer methods
Hormone‑friendly practices
Emotional awareness
Gentle rest
Pelvic breathing
Menstrual‑aligned routines
When women follow a female‑specific spinal approach, healing becomes faster and deeper.
πΈ My Books: Whispers from the Womb and Your Back is the Backbone of Your Health
My work with women inspired me to write my book Whispers from the Womb, where I explore the deep intelligence of the female body — the emotional, hormonal, and spiritual messages that the womb carries.
Women taught me that:
The womb whispers
The spine responds
The emotions speak
The body remembers
Healing begins when we listen
This blog is a reflection of those whispers.
πΏ My Journey as a Healer — Why I Care So Deeply
In 1986, I suffered severe cervical spondylosis. Doctors told me to stop driving my two‑wheeler. But I had:
A wife
Three small children (12, 9, and 4)
A business dispute
A court case
Financial pressure
No option to rest
My spine broke down under life’s weight.
A holistic healer helped me. His drugless approach changed my life. I went deep into healing sciences. I started the Institute of Cosmic Health & Harmony, a registered non‑profit trust. I wrote my book Your Back Is the Backbone of Your Health in 1992.
Since then, thousands have come to me. Women taught me some of the most profound lessons.
This blog is dedicated to them.
π The Spine Responds to Awareness, Not Struggle
When women:
Breathe deeply
Rest intelligently
Honour their cycle
Release emotional stress
Support their pelvic health
Their spine begins to heal.
Your back is not separate from your womb. Your spine is not separate from your emotions. Your pain is not separate from your life.
Healing begins when you listen.
